Dougie and I are SO angry and our parents are beside themselves.  We’ve just seen the video of Geronimo being led away by DEFRA officials, surrounded by the police.  He was clearly very afraid and now he’s been murdered.  Yes, murdered.  The Royal College of Veterinarians said this was not necessary so, as we said in our last post, where is Boris’ mantra “following the science”? 

It is an utter disgrace and the world can now see how this country deals with animal welfare.  Oh, we understand that the law sees us animals as lesser beings.  We know there are some good people working on our behalf but the power lies elsewhere.

So why don’t we do a little test and follow the science?

• Who fights wars and develops weapons?  Humans.
• Who has done untold damage to the natural environment ?  Humans
• Who gets the scientific evidence and then ignores it?  Humans

We could go on but you get our point.  Boris, Eustice, DEFRA, the police….hang your heads in shame. 

On the subject of respecting animals, we’d just take the opportunity to say a big well done to that lovely Pen Farthing and a warm welcome to his feline and canine friends.  Don’t apologise for the swearing mate, straight meowing is in short supply within the cat baskets of power.  We are so sorry that you could not get your human colleagues out and our thoughts are with them.  We hope that they can carry on your work in Afghanistan.
