Hi, Dougie here again.

Thought I’d update you all.  I’m feeling OK you know, lonely but OK.  I don’t really leave Mom and Dad’s side and I’ve stopped playing in the garden.  It’s no fun on your own.

Don’t worry, I do still play – especially with that peacock feather Auntie Gill gave me.  It’s immense fun.  Plus I have lots of toys.  I’ve also taken over Hamish’s scratching post.  I’m sure he wouldn’t mind me using it.  I won’t go into his Garfield House though, not yet anyway.  That was his domain.

Am I being spoilt? I have a new bed, favourite food, cuddles on demand.  No, that’s situation normal guys.

We all miss the way Hamish gave Mom and Dad a quick cuddle to say thank you for his food, how he crooked his tail to say follow me into the kitchen and the parents’ nightly efforts to save the mice he brought home.  I especially miss our chats and, even though he always appeared to be so independent, he was never far from my side.

A bit of local news.  I was  meowing with the horses next door earlier and they said that there is a sudden overcrowding problem in the local mice population.  See how important my brother was?
