Hello everyone! Once again, it’s been ages since our last blog so we thought we’d better get our act together. So much has been happening. It’s one long round of sleep – eat – wash – sleep – eat – wash – play – catch a mouse – sleep – eat – wash – sleep. So busy!
Our big news? We have a new friend who is staying at ours for a few weeks. It’s good to have guests and, to be fair, he’s very quiet. For some reason, he appears to be strictly vegan and although that’s really odd, at least there’s no risk that we’ll be asked to share our food. He has a funny little house with his own personal patio and, rather strangely, he seems to wear another house. It’s all very confusing.
Who is he? Mr Fred the Tortoise.

Mom says he’s cute, we think she’s delusional. Having said that, she thinks mice are cute so what can you meow?
We did meet him a few years ago but he’s the only tortoise we’ve ever seen and we’re intrigued. Where are all the others? He seems to spend his day split between eating and sleeping, interspersed with bursts of activity. We can identify with that. Unfortunately, we don’t speak tortoise but he seems to understand human and a smattering of meow. We all enjoy the garden and a bit of sunbathing so, all in all, we have lots in common. We can’t work out why he sits in his water dish but hey, it’s cool.
He’s very welcome, of course, but we would prefer it if Mom and Dad got their priorities right. What do we mean? Well, you might be outraged to hear that WE had to wait a whole ten minutes longer for our breakfast to be served yesterday whilst Mom harvested dandelions and sorted out lettuce for Fred.
There are limits.
